Membership - Open Day Saturday 21st April

"This is how it's done."
We welcomed some prospective new members along to show them a bit about barbershop singing. They joined us on the risers for some vocal warmups.

And this is how Jan looks when it's not done correctly!
No not really - I think she must be thinking about which song to sing next perhaps?

We sing a few songs for them.
Dont we look spiffy dressed in the colours of our voice parts?

Then they have a bit of a lesson - in parts - from Jan.
It is fun really!

The we showed them a bit about another aspect of our craft - Quartetting.
BAZINGA performed their two comp songs - go girls!

We had a cuppa afterwards and hopefully some of the ladies will come along and join our chorus - and tell their friends!
Number of visit gadget repaired and started at 0ne today - prior viewings since setup 2,674.

Frances celebrates 10yrs with SAI

Frances Talib received her 10 year badge as a member of SAI on 11th of April.
Some of the girls have started a small tradition of when they achieve their 15 yr milestone, they pass their 10yr badge on to another member who has reached their 10 yr 'birthday'.
Ilona passed hers to Karen and she has now passed it on to Frances - a nice tradition.

Endeavour Chorus Family and Friends Concert

Here's a group of us who travelled up to Stanwell Tops yesterday to watch our sister chorus Endeavour Harmony from the Sutherland Shire strut their stuff.

We went along especially to support two of our Brilliant Basses - Sue and Colleen.
They will be singing with them at this years convention in Canberra.

Go girls - you're looking GREAT.
Make sure you bring any coaching tips back to us eh?

They look pretty spectacular 'en masse'
Lots of 'screaming softs' and dynamic held out ends of phrases.

Here are some our prior Wollongong chorus members on stage with Endeavour - both in the front row - Meg and Sue in front of Sandy O'Neill who has been our visitor on many occasions.

It was great to sit back and be entertained by such a vital bunch of ladies - just like us!

Sing out at Ridgeview Nursing Home

One of the nice things about Chorus is being able to sing for the 'oldies' at their nursing homes.
A group of us sang for the residents (which includes Frances' mother and mother-in-law) at Ridgeview Nursing Home in Albion Park last Saturday afternoon.
It is a delight to see their smiles, sometimes tears and interaction as they listen to us sing.
