Busking in the Mall - take 2

This time we tried the lower end of the Mall.
It was a lovely sunny day but the wind played havoc with our sign until
we discovered that a section scarf made quite an adequate anchor around
a nearby post!

I think we made almost $40 ....

And we sang Happy Birthday to Meika
(looking embarrassed as 20 strange ladies where about to sing to her)
who was having a birthday outing with her friends in the Mall via the Smiggle Shop.

From the Harem!

It was time to learn a new song but of course any excuse to dress up!

Here are some characters from either Ali Baba's thieves or the harem of a sultan in the
Arabian Nights.
Perhaps the 'lady' in pink might even be  Scheherazade the fictional wife of Entertainments.
The story goes that every day the Persian king would marry a new virgin, and
every day he would send yesterday's wife to be beheaded. This was done in anger, having found
out that his first wife was unfaithful to him. He had killed 1,000 such women by
the time he was introduced to Scheherazade.
She supposedly had a thousand tales to tell - and by the time she ran out of 'tales'
they had been together for 1,001 nights and had three sons - he had fallen
in love with her so he spared her and made her his wife

Not EVERYONE dressed up!

Here we are ... ready to sing 'A Friend like Me' for Jan at Barb Scott's home.
