Cathy Coaching Day two

Isn't Photoshop amazing?
Check out the 'stitched' panorama - this is a combination of two photo's - I can't see where it joins.
Here we are playing our violins, wonderfully in sync!

Enthusiam and passion!
These are our catchwords from Cathy

Bazinga performs 'Somewhere over the Rainbow'

Go girls ... aren't they sounding great?

Remember to enlarge the pictures on your screen (especially the collages) just click on them with your mouse.

Here they are in action singing .... 'It's a Sin to tell a Lie'

Working hard to improve...
Karen reads us the words of Shelter - we need to sing with passion and tell the story of the song.

Preview from the chorry demo group ...
These girls are working hard under Jills direction to perfect the chorry to enhance the sound.
Now it's up to us to learn it too.

Some points to remember from the weekend.
Thanks to Jan and Cathy.....
Now lets remember to put it all into practice!

Coaching with Cathy - Day One

As usual we start the day with a physical warm up session.

After our physical warmups with Jill, Cathy took us through some vowel matching exercises.

It took us a while to get it right!

The Leads had spent the morning up close and personal with Cathy and were ready to show the rest of us what they had learned.
Great stuff from the Leads - singing as a unit!

Today we had a birthday girl who blew out her candles at afternoon tea. Happy birthday Jill - great cake Robyn!

As well as the chorus tuition, Jan was getting heaps of instruction too. Cathy showed the chorus the importance of watching Jan's hands rather than her face and Jan practiced directing the 'story' of the song.

We all learned a valuable lesson.
Some points to remember from the day:
Correct vowel placement and mouth shape
Keeping the sound forward
Listen to your riser buddies and sing as a unit ......
Bring on tomorrow

International Women's Day 2012

'Sounds of the Neighbourhood'

We were invited to join in the celebrations at Berkley Community Centre so a small group of chorus members went along to perform.
Here we are warming up prior to our performance.
We sang a set of 4 songs for an appreciative audience beginning with 'Footloose' and finishing with 'Kickin' it Up a Notch'

Here's our Certificate of Appreciation.
